Cathy joined Financial Services in 1997 as a Customer Adviser for a demutualised Building Society. She worked as a Mortgage Adviser for a locally owned Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) after which Cathy spent 17 years as an IFA in a Tax and Wealth Management team for a large national accountancy practice. She advised legal professionals and family business owners on their wealth creation, retirement planning, estate planning, personal and business protection arrangements.

Cathy is a member of the Personal Finance Society (PFS) holding the Diploma in Financial Services. She attained her Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) in 1999 and Advanced FPC in 2004. Cathy has an Honours Degree in Banking and Finance, Postgraduate Certificate in Executive Leadership and is a Certified Financial Coach Practitioner.

Cathy in her own words explains; “I feel privileged to help clients plan for their financial future while building relationships with their families and loved ones. I find it easy to connect with others and am always curious to learn of their passion for life. I am practical, intuitive, empathetic and compassionate when I receive news of death, life-limiting illness or struggles that clients face”.

Giving back is important to Cathy, she volunteers for Dress for Success Northern Ireland who are part of Foyle Women’s Aid. She founded a Lean In circle, Women In Finance NI to support women working in finance roles and to encourage more women to consider a career in finance.

Cathy enjoys spending time with her family outdoors preferably and tending to her beloved plants!
